My Pain Assessment Communication Tool, aka MPaCT

My Pain Assessment Communication Tool, aka MPaCT

In mid-2024, as a member of the Painaustralia consumer advisory group, I was asked to fill in for the Painaustralia representative working on an international collaboration. Fortunately for me, I was kept on the project as one of the Lived Experience experts.
As pain patients, we have been trying to describe our pain with a number, without much luck, for far too long. The My Pain Assessment Communication Tool, MPaCT, was developed to overcome that distress. MPaCT can be used as a daily/weekly/monthly diary, or a way to let your doctor/specialist/allied health professional know how you’re feeling, because we all know that things change as soon as we get to the surgery. MPaCT could also be used to monitor how your treatment is going by tracking changes.
This article, written by Linda Wilhelm, explains how the tool was developed.

I look forward to hearing/seeing what you think.
Your feedback is much appreciated

Cheers, Kim. 🧡💜🧡
